Aboutus
Tamara started dancing when she was 12 years old when her mother took her to see "Strictly Ballroom" she started classes the very next week and has not looked back since. Individually Tamara has had some very successful partnerships and was the Queensland Junior Individual Latin Champion in 1994, Queensland Adult Level 2 champion in all 3 styles in 1995 and was undefeated in 1996 as the Queensland Junior Open Latin Champion in all 3 styles and also made the Australian Adult Level 3 Latin American finals in 1996. Although both Salvatore and Tamara had experienced much success with their dancing and previous partners it wasn't until 1998 that they decided to start a new partnership together. It was with this partnering that they found their true dancing match and together they have forged a very successful partnership and dancing career. At the beginning of their partnership although they had been successful in all 3 styles in the past with previous partners, they decided to specialise in the Latin American style as this was their forte. Within a few months of dancing together they competed in their first competition which they against all odds won. After this very successful debut, there was no turning back and they continued to win all adult open events they competed in Queensland and were starting to make other state and Australian finals in every amatuer competition that they competed in. They both worked other jobs while competing to save enough money for costumes, travel and lessons with some of the world's best teachers. Some of these teachers included Helen Richey ("Dancing with the stars" Adjudicator), Paul Green ("So you think you can dance" Choreographer) and Karen Hardy ("Strictly Come Dancing - England " Professional). In 2004 both Salvatore and Tamara tried out for a new television show "Dancing with the Stars" and although both were accepted into the show only one Queensland Celebrity entered into the first season and Salvatore partnered Pauline Hanson to the final of the very first "Dancing with the Stars". Following the success and hype of the television series Salvatore and Tamara decided to turn Professional and start their own studio "DancEvolution". They have not competed much in the professional scene in Australia, but look forward to continuing their dancing career in that division in the future. They have over 7 years teaching experience and thoroughly enjoy passing on their knowledge and love of dancing to others. They love travelling and they find it very rewarding to see their students develop into capable, successful and passionate dancers. Tamara is supported by and highly recommendeds Phil Kabakoff Tanning for all of your tanning needs. Some of their most rewarding achievements in the Amatuer division are:
